Papel Marché was a pop song released by Brazilian singer-songwriter-guitarist João Bosco in 1984 as part of the Gagabirô album. While it was relatively less known outside of Brazil, it was a big hit in his native country and was re-recorded by many Brazilian artists.

Buying random album LPs and CDs in the store was very much the only way to discover new music before the days of iTunes, YouTube and Spotify. I first learnt about the song through Brazilian singer-guitarist Ana Caram's cover in the Maracanã album and fell in love with it. The lyrics features much of sights and sounds at the beach - the colours of the sea, sunset parties and the fragility of self-esteem like paper mache.

I've made a complete re-arrangement of the song for the piano that would be neither Joao's nor Ana's guitar version. I hope you like it, and please pardon my poor Portuguese skills.
