This song has a special melancholic feel that I cannot forget since the 1990's. Perhaps it matches Kaoru, the beautiful cellist, in the Fuji TV drama "101st Marriage Proposal" (101回目のプロポーズ). She was popular in the orchestra, but feeling lonely in metropolis Tokyo trying to forget her late fiancé. Then came Takeda-san, a lonely man longing for love who proposed and was rejected by the 100th woman. It was a simple but unique story in 1991, somewhat of an urban fantasy like "Sleepless in Seattle (1993)".
Performed by: Piano & Whisky
Pianist Yukie Nishimura, who wrote and performed the original soundtrack beautifully, grew a huge following in Asia thereafter. She had a huge influence in my self-learning journey on the piano.
Here's me playing Kaoru's Theme from Fuji TV drama "101st Marriage Proposal (1991)". It's hard to improvise it more with Yukie's beautiful composition and arrangement.
